The Singapore Pavilion at the United Nations 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai has earned a Singapore Good Design Award (SG Mark) 2024 in the Sustainable Design category.
In addition to the physical Pavilion’s design and construction, which showcased over 70 programmes, the Pico team also designed a virtual pavilion to offer global audiences their own version of the experience.
Embodying the theme ‘Waste to Wonder’, the 200 sq. m. Singapore Pavilion was created through circular design principles by upcycling plastic waste to 3D print materials. This innovative methodology enabled the Pico team to develop a distinctive architectural aesthetic while significantly reducing waste generation during the activation. The Pavilion attracted more than 6,000 in-person visitors and nearly 60,000 online visitors.
The Singapore Good Design Award (SG Mark) sets benchmarks for exceptional design quality that impacts businesses and communities in Singapore and beyond.
